Experiencing Earth with the Senses: July 2010

at the Soil Colour Creative Center on the Heldenberg
within the scope of the EU project "Painting with the Colours of the Earth"

What is more delightful than to joyfully work with wet loam renderings on a warm weekend in July, to create from natural substances and environment-friendly curd-glue worlds of fantasy, and to discover painting of a different kind, this is painting with colours that stem from nature?

On each weekend in July 2010, the numerous visitors oft he Museum on the Heldenberg were allowed to look over the shoulders of the participants of the seminars, to curiously ask questions, and to admire the pieces of art, which had been created in this place and which were still wet. There were a large number of children, who would gladly have participated, but it was the task of profoundly educating the messengers of soil colours.

On September 6, 2010, at the start of a new school year, many schools in Lower Austria will find an invitation for a painting competition, in which children from Lower Austria and Southern Moravia will start a "time leap with Colours of the Earth" with environment-friendly painting means. In the soil layers, not only natural changes are shown, for the participants of the painting competition within the framework of the EU project "Painting with the Colours of the Earth" they also serve as bearers of the memory of the common periods in history.
